Christian mission is no longer a matter of missionaries from the West going to the rest of the world. Rather, the growth of Christianity in Latin America, Africa and parts of Asia is eclipsing that of the Western church. Christian mission is truly global, with missionaries from all places going to all peoples.
Samuel Escobar

Believing firmly in Jesus’ call to go into all the world, First Portadown currently supports, financially and in prayer, seven missionary families across the globe. Our young people also share this burden for mission and many choose to volunteer their summer break to serve abroad or at home.

Information about each missionary family will be available on their profile page, which you can access by clicking on their photograph below.

Operation World

When you hear a country mentioned in the news or in a conversation, and want to know more about it and what God is doing there, this book will help you. Engage your heart and mind in global prayer with this thoroughly-researched, fully-updated seventh edition. It is loaded with clear, concise, accurate information on peoples, languages, religions, denominations, spiritual trends and prayer needs – for every country in the world, from the largest to the smallest.

Leading evangelical mission leaders, scholars, writers, pastors and lay people all over the world rely on this book, refer to it, and quote from it regularly. Every fact, number and statement is checked and re-checked with global and local experts in each field.

Jason Mandryk and the Operation World research team asked Christian leaders everywhere: “How should the Body of Christ throughout the world be praying for your country?” This book is the result.

Operation World’s easy-to-follow summaries of every nation include:

  • Timely challenges for prayer and specific answers to prayer
  • Updates on church growth, with a focus on evangelicals
  • Charts and tables showing growth and decline of world religions
  • Population, people group, and language statistics
  • Charts and maps showing global religious and demographic trends
  • Explanations of major currents in economics, politics and society

You can get the book from the Faith Mission Bookshop in Portadown or from Amazon.
