Shoebox Appeal 2008
The ladies of PW this year decided to get involved with the Shoebox Appeal organised by Operation Christmas Child. So on 11th December we brought our empty shoeboxes, all manner of toys, toiletries and ‘bits and pieces’ and had a very successful work night of wrapping and filling the boxes. By the end of the evening we had 55 completed boxes piled up along with extra items to be sent to the distribution centre. A good night was had by all and it was great to hear the chatter and laughter as we worked and then rounded the evening off with what else but a cup of tea! Well done to all involved. The total number of boxes sent by our church was 395 so we nearly made the 400 target set by Rev Carson. Let’s see if we can beat it next year – so keep your eyes open for all those bargains during the year.
